STONE SETTING COURSE

In this monographic of 6 hours course you will learn how to correctly hold any type of stone, mineral or crystal in rings. (Setting).

We will analyze the original shape of the stone and select the best method to maximize the beauty of the ring.

We will discover all possible modern and traditional setting techniques.

The basic materials and tools are included in the course. The ring will be made of brass and the stone will be to choose among those that we have as a sample in the workshop.

The student can bring their stones already carved and polished ready to be set. The stones will not be polished in the course.

Rings can be made in platinum, silver, gold, use precious stones, etc. Always with an additional charge. (Consult by mail).

There will be the possibility of adding textures and engravings, letters, numbers or inscriptions.

You will learn to take measurements and use the tools correctly.

In the 6 hours of the course we will make one or several pieces depending on the difficulty of the work.

Finally we will make a polished mirror-like finish or something rustic using oxides and patinas. What is your style?

PROGRAM

*Safety and hygiene.

* Design and patterns.

*Use of tools, marking and cutting.

* Welding techniques.

*Metal engraving by rolling and stamping. (Optional).

*Setting.

*Uses of patinas and oxides. Change the color of the metal. (Optional).

*Polishing and polishing techniques.

No previous experience necessary
